For invited researchers working in the EUGENE2 project.
It is appropriate to bring at least two young scientists to the meeting in addition to the PI:s. The Advisory Board Meeting will be separately held on Friday 10 October at 08:00-09:30. Since this is the last General Assembly, the WP leaders will make not only an update since last year but also a summary of the total work and progress made during the lifetime of the project. Some of the PIs are going to give a scientific presentation of an interesting work made in the project, we will have the views of the Advisory Board and Ulf Smith, as the coordinator, will make a summery of what we have ackomplished in the EUGENE2.

This year, the course will aim at fostering the networking of the junior memebers of the consortium by providing a forum for presenting and discussing the current status and the future of their research projects. This will occur in the context of dedicated sessions, the main backbone of the meeting. Sessions will be chaired by a senior investigator which will be assisted by two discussants to be identified within the younger consortium scientists. Both oral presentations and poster sessions will be organized.

The course is dedicated to PhD students and post-doctoral fellows working in the field of Type 2 diabetes and willing to expand their technological background. The main objective of the course is to share important know-hows and research skills of recognized or emerging importance in the investigation of the molecular pathogenesis of Type 2 diabetes. Specific targets of the individual presentations will be identified.
